Co-organised by Biodiversa+, Alliance for Nature, BioAgora, GBIF ECA and MARCO-BOLO, this event will bring together Europe’s biodiversity monitoring community, from researchers and monitoring professionals to policymakers, the private sector, and students.
The conference will revolve around 9 themes:
- Terrestrial monitoring: land surveillance in focus
- Marine monitoring: observing ocean ecosystems
- Freshwater monitoring: spotlight on rivers, lakes and wetlands
- Data management and infrastructures for monitoring: frameworks for handling, storing and disseminating information
- Mass monitoring: large-scale methods and technologies for monitoring
- Public policy and funding for monitoring: intricacies of resource oversight and allocation
- Monitoring governance: administrative solutions for improving existing structures
- Monitoring and the private sector: cooperation with and for non-state-owned enterprises
- Capacity-building in monitoring: training, tools and knowledge development
