ANERIS attended the Global BioImaging Exchange of Experience event in Japan in the last days of October

04 Nov 2024

The ninth Exchange of Experience event (GBI_EoE2024), organised by Global BioImaging and held from October 29th to 31st, 2024, brought together global experts in biomedical imaging at the Okazaki Conference Center in Japan. Themed "Image Data Horizons - Global Strategies for Accessible Knowledge," the event attracted 296 participants in total, with 160 attending in person and others joining remotely from 47 different countries.

The hybrid event included a series of presentations and discussions focused on overcoming common challenges in data management and promoting cross-border collaboration. Perrine Gilloteaux represented the French Euro-BioImaging node, delivering a presentation on France’s national strategy for data management in biomedical imaging. Her talk highlighted key insights from ANERIS, which revealed shared data management challenges across distinct fields. In particular, the development of the AEIS-MAC framework underscored how many of the data issues faced in biomedical imaging align closely with those encountered in marine life-sensing and monitoring.

GBI_EoE2024 underscored the need for collaborative global efforts to build shared solutions for managing and sharing complex imaging data across scientific disciplines, laying the groundwork for more accessible and unified data strategies worldwide.
