ANERIS at the Mediterranean diving show 2026

ANERIS at the Mediterranean diving show 2026

The ANERIS project will be present at the Mediterranean Diving Show 2026, an international diving fair taking place on 13-15 March 2026 in Cornellà (Barcelona, Spain) thanks to the Environmental Department of the Catalan Federation of Underwater Activities (FECDAS), showcasing the MINKA citizen-science platform and inviting divers, clubs, and the broader diving sector to contribute to marine biodiversity knowledge through simple, high-impact reporting.

The Mediterranean Diving Show is a key meeting point for the diving community, bringing together divers, clubs, training organisations, federations, industry professionals, and brands from across the region and beyond. It also provides a unique space to connect with volunteers who are actively involved in responsible diving, environmental awareness, and marine conservation initiatives. In this setting, ANERIS aims to strengthen collaboration between the diving community and researchers by making participation in biodiversity monitoring easier and more accessible.

At the FECDAS stand, visitors will discover how MINKA enables divers to record and share underwater observations, such as photos, basic metadata, and location, so they can be reviewed, validated, and used to support research, environmental monitoring, and conservation actions in the Mediterranean Sea. During the three-day event, attendees will be able to discover the current stage of the ANERIS project and the ways to contribute to it in this last stage. In addition, participants will learn how to use MINKA (what to record, how to upload observations, and how validation works). Volunteers will also have the opportunity to connect with the FECDAS Environmental Department and learn about volunteering in the diving community. Access to outreach materials and practical guidance to support responsible diving with positive environmental impact will also be available.
