ANERIS organised a scientific diving course in the Medes Islands

31 May 2024

Aimed at providing citizens with all the necessary diving knowledge, ANERIS consortium members from FECDAS, in a collaboration with UNISUB ESTARTIT, facilitated a diving course. The event took place on April 25 in the Medes Islands, one of the most beautiful marine reserves in the Mediterranean sea. The course was attended by marine enthusiasts and people involved in ocean and marine wildlife scientific work.

The goal of these practical sessions is to teach participants techniques for underwater sampling and collecting meaningful photographs of marine biodiversity. Sharing knowledge about the Mediterranean flora and fauna with the wider public, the project aims to bring citizens closer to nature, introduce them to science and potentially foster collaborations in marine research projects requiring volunteers. Collected observations will be shared and stored in the MINKA platform.
