ANERIS participates at Riding the Wave 2026

ANERIS will discuss the benefits of ocean science and marine innovations for European policy, sustainability and determination, at Riding the Wave 2026

Mid May this year, the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union will welcome participants in the Conference on ‘Riding the Wave: Advancing the EU Ocean Pact through Science, Innovation and Cooperation.’ The convention’s main focus and discussion is exploring how maritime innovation and ocean science can inform European policy, sustainability and competitiveness more successfully. It will be held on 11th and 12th May 2026, Ammochostos, Cyprus. 

ANERIS’s project partner LifeWatch ERIC will participate in the conference with a booth exhibition, presenting relevant activities and services. Dr. Christos Arvanitides, CEO of LifeWatch ERIC (Spain), will also be a speaker during Day 1, discussing Restoring Ocean Health in Europe: From Marine Science to Policy, Innovation and Societal Action. Together with fellow guest speakers, they will address the approaches to reducing marine pollution, practices for ecosystem restorations, and more. Their discussion will also aim to stress on how the collaboration between researchers, technology providers and policymakers can improve implementation, as well as enhance public engagement. Thus, also increasing ocean literacy and societal awareness.
