The 12th international workshop on marine technology, MarTech 2025 took place from 28 - 29 May 2025 in Kulturgunea de Donibane, Pasaia, Gipuzkoa (Spain). Organised by AZTI, the event represents a leading international forum for marine technology experts, researchers, and industry professionals. It focuses on crucial technological advancements for sustainable ocean observation and exploration, providing an excellent platform for sharing the latest developments in marine sensors, platforms, and data management. Additionally, the symposium aims to bring participants and the Basque Country people together to work towards a better technological space that addresses challenges, such as climate change, and better opportunities for a circular economy.
On May 29, during the second session talk of the workshop, the ANERIS project was presented with scientific posters and a flash talk, covering themes such as the role of the underwater observatories SmartBay and OBSEA for the development of the OMB products, as well as some more technical aspects — the use of EMUAS cameras and the development of the YOLO object detection algorithm for a higher resolution of images.
The event gathered innovators, scientists, representatives from research and specific end-user communities all together to share ideas on the blue economy development and how to implement best practices in this field.
