On 7 November, ANERIS took part in a dialogue in the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona.
For the thirteenth consecutive year, the event brought together institutions, organisations, and businesses to discuss a more sustainable, efficient, and human-centered future of cities worldwide. With over 250 sessions on urban innovations, more than 630 speakers from 135 countries attended the congress.
Among them was Berta Companys from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), part of the ANERIS consortium. In collaboration with partners from ISGlobal and Science for Change, she dived into how co-design in citizen science and software development boosts research and progress. She highlighted the role of the ANERIS project in developing scientific tools and methods for marine life-sensing and monitoring, as an example of co-design in marine biology.
