On January 25, for the second consecutive year, the Biodiversity Research Institute (IRBio) hosted the Next Generation IRBio Symposium 2024.

The event gathered researchers in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Biology of the University of Barcelona (UB) to highlight the efforts and the motivation of young scientists, which is in line with one of the main objectives of ANERIS. Through numerous presentations and posters, the senior researchers briefly showcased their work, introducing the trainees and the research technicians to their future study opportunities and the possible collaborations with other research groups.

Among the sponsors and collaborators of the symposium was the Catalan Federation of Underwater Activities (FECDAS). This Catalonian federation organises and promotes underwater sports activities and works with projects related to the protection and regeneration of the natural marine environment, and this is its main focus as a partner in the ANERIS project consortium.
